Xteink X4 Pro e-reader hits record low price of $84.15

The Xteink X4 Pro is currently available for $84.15 at Amazon. That is a $25 discount from its standard price, marking the lowest cost to date for the device. This pricing aligns with the unit's Prime Day offer, making the compact e-reader significantly more affordable than its usual retail value of $109.

The device measures 4.26 inches with an 800 x 480 E Ink display. It is smaller and thinner than Amazon's smallest six-inch Kindle. The X4 Pro includes several hardware updates over previous models. A touchscreen interface complements the physical page-turning buttons. A new touch-sensitive button below the display allows users to return to the home screen quickly. Meanwhile, a built-in light offers adjustable brightness and color temperature for reading in low-light conditions.

The device runs CrossPoint Reader software. This improves library navigation and the reading experience compared to earlier Xteink versions, though it remains less polished than Amazon's proprietary software. One notable design change is the replacement of the USB-C port with a proprietary charging connector, a decision that has drawn criticism from some users.

Despite this, the Xteink X4 Pro retains magnetic attachment capabilities for compatible smartphones. The magnetic connection is stronger than found on previous models. Andrew Liszewski, a photographer and colleague at The Verge, describes the X4 Pro as the best tiny e-reader available, stating it is a device he will not leave the house without.
