Iran has put forward a proposal to broker negotiations between Saudi Arabia and the Houthis. This move follows a sharp increase in hostilities. A recent attack on Riyadh's airport is reported to have killed at least 12 people and injured hundreds. The incident triggered retaliatory strikes in Yemen. Control of the Red Sea coast by Houthi forces remains a danger to key shipping lanes and Saudi oil shipments. Separately, Tehran warned that any new conflict with the United States could put Gulf data centers and digital infrastructure at risk. Saudi Arabia confirmed that talks with Iran are underway. However, Riyadh has not yet formally accepted the mediation offer.
