First Breach Inc. (NASDAQ:FBDT) announced on October 20, 2026, that its proprietary drone prototype reached a speed of 161 km/h (100 mph) during flight testing. The result represents the maximum groundspeed permitted by the Federal Aviation Administration under Part 107 for small unmanned aircraft without a waiver. The test was conducted on the current prototype configuration without a payload.
Jeffrey Low, Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer of First Breach, stated that the company stopped at 100 mph due to regulatory limits rather than a lack of aircraft margin. He noted that the platform, which was flying tethered a few months prior, is now operating at the regulatory ceiling for its class. First Breach is currently working with the FAA to determine the potential speed envelope above this limit.
The achieved speed exceeds the 120 km/h (74 mph) maximum speed previously published in the company's specifications for the platform. Jordan Low, Co-Founder, President and Chief Operating Officer, attributed the performance to a design that prioritizes range, payload, and anti-jamming capabilities alongside speed. He described the airframe as simple enough to produce at the rates requested by the Department of War.
First Breach has initiated the process of obtaining FAA waivers to permit testing at speeds above the current threshold. The company expects to characterize the platform's full speed envelope once that authorization is secured. Jordan Low indicated that the FAA waiver process is running in parallel with the production ramp-up, with neither step waiting on the other.
The company continues to target the completion of initial prototypes in the fourth quarter of 2026 and the start of scaled production in the second quarter of 2027. As manufacturing operations expand, First Breach aims for a production capacity of more than 2,500 drones per week.
