Coca-Cola shares closed at their highest level in the past year on October 16, 2026, after returning 38.9% over the trailing twelve months. This performance significantly outpaced the S&P 500, which gained 15.5% over the same period. The stock now trades at 8.1 times sales, a multiple that exceeds the previous record of 7.1 set at a quarter end in fiscal Q3 2016.
Management recently raised annual revenue and profit forecasts following a sales lift from the FIFA World Cup, Reuters reported. However, executives acknowledged that pressure on low-income consumers continues globally. During the July 28 earnings call for fiscal Q2 2026, management described an uneven consumer environment where strong economic conditions in many markets coexist with inflation and geopolitical uncertainty for others.
To maintain engagement with these shoppers, Coca-Cola grew volume by 5% in the quarter. Management attributed part of this gain to an easier year-over-year comparison. The company secured 3 points of growth from pricing but gave back 1 point due to an unfavorable sales mix. This mix shift was primarily tied to the timing of investments, notably in the Asia Pacific region. Concentrate shipments also lagged volume by 1 point for similar timing reasons.
Analysts questioned the extent of investment into price and mix to secure volume, as well as value share losses in India. While the Asia Pacific market generated $5.64 billion in revenue in fiscal 2025, a fraction of the $19.6 billion from North America, it remains a focal point for current strategy. Regional revenue grew only 0.8% in fiscal 2025, following a 0.9% increase in fiscal 2024. In the second quarter of fiscal 2026, volume grew across all Asia Pacific operating units, yet comparable operating income declined.
The company's operating margin reached 31.8% for the twelve months to July 3, 2026, marking the highest level among the 40 quarter ends since fiscal Q3 2016. Any further spending on price would erode this margin. Organic revenue grew by 6% in fiscal Q2 2026, which management described as the high end of its long-term growth algorithm.
For the full fiscal year 2026, management expects organic revenue growth of about 5%. This forecast highlights that while current hits to reported results include a one-point mix decline and reduced profit in Asia Pacific, the valuation assumes these impacts remain limited. Investors will monitor price and mix trends in the next quarterly report, expected on or around October 27, 2026.
