Against the backdrop of uneven commercial construction activity globally, the modular flooring sector produced one of its stronger quarterly prints of the cycle.
(Nasdaq: TILE) posted net sales of $395.7 million for the second quarter ended July 5, 2026, a 5.4% gain over the same period a year earlier, and raised its full fiscal year outlook on the strength of that result and a healthy order backlog.
Margin anatomy: tariff refunds meet operational execution The income statement expands the picture. Gross profit margin reached 45.0% of net sales, 560 basis points wider than a year ago.
On an adjusted basis the gain was 524 basis points, split between $15.6 million of IEEPA tariff refunds contributing 393 basis points and 131 basis points of factory-level improvement at higher utilization.
