DeBoer was visibly irate and reportedly told Lee that the play "just cost us the d, game." The incident occurred with just over two minutes remaining in Saturday's contest, when Alabama had no timeouts left and was defending a third-and-2 situation on its own end of the field.
Lee committed a foul by grabbing a Georgia player by the jersey and striking him twice in the face with an open hand.
The penalty granted the Bulldogs an automatic first down, allowing them to kneel out the remainder of the clock.
