That structure lets software rent compute by the second and settle continuously without a fee at each clock tick. RLUSD is an issued token, a ledger entry sitting above the settlement layer rather than inside it, and extending payment channels to issued tokens requires a future XRPL upgrade. Ripple has not scheduled one.
Ripple released version 1.1 of the XRPL AI Starter Kit alongside the integration, adding support for MPP and the Open Wallet Standard. The Open Wallet Standard gives wallets a common interface across chains and lets an agent execute a transaction without touching the account's main private keys, within spending limits and destination lists set by the account holder.
