Wrestler Dono Hefner to run independent show Too Over To Care

Rising independent wrestler Dono Hefner is preparing to present his own promotion, Too Over To Care, in Washington, D.C., on Feb. 27, 2027. The 20-year-old, who describes himself as the "most OverAF independent professional wrestler," aims to use the event to challenge the political structures he perceives within the industry. In a recent interview with OutKick Dropkick, Hefner stated that his motivation stems from a desire to be under pressure and to offer opportunities that he believes are often withheld by existing promotions. "People don't get the opportunities they believe they get," Hefner said. "So, I'm really doing everyone a favor." The announcement has already drawn attention through direct confrontation. Hefner targeted former WWE star JTG, now known as Jay Tha Gawd, calling him "soft" and claiming he could "prove it anytime anywhere." While Hefner acknowledged the difficulty of booking the show, specifically the necessity of turning down wrestlers who want to participate because "you can't put you know everyone on a card," he described the process so far as "pretty smooth" given the significant time remaining before the event. Several independent talents are already billed for the card. The roster includes the tag team Top Team, consisting of Jay Lucas and Terry Yaki, and the duo Sexy & Blessed, made up of Chulo Montana and Ykies. Beyond the booked matches, Hefner expressed a specific desire to book a match against independent legend Joey Janela. "My dream match on the indies would be against Joey Janela," Hefner said, adding that he believes Janela could "really put me over" and generate significant conversation about his career. For now, Hefner intends to continue building his profile with fans leading up to the 2027 date.
