The allocation cycle for regulated digital asset wrappers kept building last week, with US-listed spot crypto ETFs pulling in roughly $1.24 billion between Aug. 31 and Sep. 4. Bitcoin ETFs ($BTC) captured the bulk of that, recording $986.85 million in net inflows according to SoSoValue, extending their positive streak to a third consecutive week and lifting the three-week cumulative total to $3.82 billion, the strongest such run since these products launched.
The week's flow pattern was uneven. Monday opened with $216.70 million in inflows before a $236.46 million reversal on Tuesday. Wednesday brought $101.15 million back. Thursday then delivered the sharpest single session of the period at $730.87 million, followed by $174.60 million on Friday.
BlackRock's IBIT took $691.51 million of the weekly total, representing roughly 70% of all Bitcoin ETF net inflows. ARK 21Shares ranked second at $137.74 million, Fidelity's FBTC added $94.88 million, and the Grayscale Bitcoin Mini Trust attracted $88.62 million.
ETF asset base and the volume gap
Total net assets held by US spot Bitcoin ETFs reached $101.25 billion by the end of the week, accounting for approximately 6.33% of Bitcoin's total market capitalization. Cumulative net inflows since launch now stand at $55.62 billion. August alone drew $3.52 billion in fresh capital, the strongest monthly reading since September 2025, per SoSoValue.
Against the backdrop of that inflow strength, trading volume told a different story. Weekly Bitcoin ETF activity fell from roughly $19 billion the prior week to around $14.5 billion. The source notes the surge in net buying was not accompanied by a broader increase in turnover, a divergence that points to concentrated allocation rather than a wide-based demand lift. Bitcoin climbed to around $81,700 on Sep. 3 as institutional flows accelerated and was trading at $79,518 at the time of publication, per Decibel.
Ethereum and the rest of the crypto ETF complex
Ethereum ETFs remained in positive territory, attracting $218.41 million for the week, their third consecutive week of net inflows. The pace dropped sharply from the prior week's $824.42 million. BlackRock's ETHA led with $136.44 million, followed by staking-focused ETHB at $81.85 million. Grayscale's ETHE moved the other way, recording $36.97 million in net outflows. Trading volume across Ethereum products fell from $6.3 billion to roughly $4.1 billion.
Demand elsewhere in the sector weakened considerably on a week-over-week basis. XRP products attracted $18.96 million against $110.49 million the prior week. Solana ETFs recorded $6.18 million compared with $153.87 million previously. Hyperliquid products added $12.27 million.
On balance, the three-week inflow run is the strongest of the year for these products, but cumulative year-to-date flows for Bitcoin ETFs remain approximately $1 billion in negative territory.
