Binance integrates USDC, buys $100M Circle shares in $100B deal

Binance will integrate the USDC stablecoin across its trading, savings, and ecosystem products under a five-year strategic commercial agreement with Circle Internet Group, valuing the arrangement at $100 billion. As part of the transaction, Binance is purchasing approximately $100 million worth of Circle shares.

Circle announced the agreement on Sept. 22. The disclosure added to increased momentum in Circle shares, which have rallied more than 50 percent since early August. The partnership is viewed as a significant catalyst for Circle's business model, which derives more than 95 percent of its revenue from reserve interest income on active USDC circulation. By embedding USDC into Binance's global trading volume and user infrastructure, the total circulation of the stablecoin is positioned to expand.

Binance's direct equity investment of $100 million includes a two-year transfer restriction, indicating a long-term institutional commitment to Circle's infrastructure. Beyond the Binance agreement, Circle has secured a New York trust charter to reinforce regulatory compliance in key financial markets. The company is also expanding into its proprietary Arc blockchain and payment network, focusing on tokenized real-world assets and cross-border settlement.

Circle shares currently trade at a price-to-sales multiple of about 8.5 times. This valuation corresponds with a 53 percent revenue growth in the company's latest reported quarter. Despite the positive developments, Wall Street firms advise caution regarding current price levels. Barchart data shows that the consensus rating for Circle Internet Group is "Moderate Buy," with a mean price target of about $91. This target suggests that a portion of the potential upside may already be reflected in the share price.
