Zanjan, a city in northern Iran, became the site of American military strikes on Thursday, with three members of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps killed in the attack, according to Fars News Agency.
The operation extends the geography of direct U.S. action against Iranian forces deeper into Iranian territory, sharpening the geopolitical risk calculus for energy flows through the Gulf.
The strike, as reported Fars News Agency, a state-linked Iranian outlet, confirmed three IRGC deaths and identified the target location as Zanjan.
