Against the backdrop of a market that already moves on Truth Social posts, the legal machinery has now caught up.
The Freedom of the Press Foundation and news outlet The Intercept filed suit Wednesday in New York federal court to block a service from Trump Media and Technology Group that charges Wall Street firms between $60,000 and $100,000 a month for early, millisecond-speed access to market-moving posts from Trump's platform.
Subscribers receive a real-time, licensed feed from Truth Social accounts with large followings, including President Trump's own account with 13 million followers, and a historical archive of posts dating back to 2022.
Kevin McGurn, TMTG's interim CEO, described the product as a high-margin, recurring revenue stream built on monetising what he called proprietary assets.
