Stop Killing Games founder Ross Scott to address video game preservation at Ars Live event

The digital distribution era changed how games reach players, and it also changed what players lose when a publisher walks away.

Titles built around centralized online servers go dark the moment those servers are taken offline.

Games removed from digital storefronts cannot be legally purchased or downloaded afterward, regardless of critical reputation or demand.

Ross Scott, founder of the Stop Killing Games campaign, will address whether either outcome can be changed in a live conversation hosted by Ars Technica on August 11 at 2:30 pm ET, broadcast on YouTube.
