Scheffler Forces Monday Playoff at Travelers Championship After Clutch Par Save

1 Scottie Scheffler salvaged an 8½-foot par putt on the 72nd hole Sunday to force a sudden-death Monday playoff against Norway's Viktor Hovland at the Travelers Championship, the two players finishing regulation tied at 21-under par at TPC River Highlands in Connecticut.

The PGA Tour's first Monday playoff since Rory McIlroy defeated J.J. Spaun at the 2025 Players Championship is set to begin at 9 a.m.

Hovland Reverses Momentum After Rain Delay Scheffler entered the final round one shot off Hovland's pace after the Norwegian shot a 64 on Saturday — birdieing the 18th to take the overnight lead — before making bogey on his opening hole Sunday to fall back into a tie.

Scheffler managed an even-par 35 on the front nine while Collin Morikawa surged with a final-round 61 to post a clubhouse target at 20-under, briefly threatening to remove the tournament from both leaders' control.
