The widening net interest margins that have defined the American regional banking cycle are still playing out across the Gulf South, and against that backdrop Red River Bancshares (Nasdaq: RRBI) delivered second-quarter 2026 net income of $11.8 million, up 15.4% from $10.2 million in the same period a year earlier.
Earnings per diluted share came in at $1.78, against $1.51 in Q2 2025. The Alexandria, Louisiana holding company for Red River Bank earned a quarterly return on assets of 1.43% and a return on equity of 12.41%.
Margin expansion offsets a modest sequential dip Quarter-on-quarter, net income slipped $208,000, or 1.7%, from the first quarter's $12.0 million.
The company said the decline reflected an expected $1.0 million rise in operating expenses, after Q1 had benefited from roughly $590,000 of periodic vendor rebates and refunds that reduced costs.
