Pineapple Financial moves $1 billion in mortgage records onto Injective blockchain

Real-asset tokenization has been circling the mortgage market for years without finding firm institutional traction.

Pineapple Financial, a mortgage lender, has now placed $1 billion in mortgage records on the Injective blockchain, converting thousands of historical loan files into onchain records.

The initial placement is the opening of a stated plan to bring more than $10 billion in historical loans to a public ledger.

Thousands of mortgage files represent a meaningful share of an originator's lending history, and moving them to a public blockchain rather than a proprietary or closed system changes the access model in a specific way.
