Independent Senate candidate Dan Osborn has paid more than $500,000 to members of his family since launching his campaign, according to federal records, a figure that contradicts his recent public assertions that his household is struggling financially.

He reiterated this sentiment during an NBC News interview later that same day, describing the daily difficulty of keeping his head above water in the current economy.
Americans for Public Trust, a government ethics watchdog, estimates that Osborn and his relatives received nearly $480,000 from his campaign and affiliated political action committees through the first quarter of 2026.
