The repricing of private software assets has rarely generated a single number as legible as this one.
Bending Spoons has agreed to acquire Miro, the workplace collaboration startup, for $1.36 billion, roughly 90% below the valuation the company carried in 2022. Miro's peak, reached in late 2021, stood at $17.5 billion.
That late-2021 figure reflected a moment when capital was moving into enterprise software and distributed work tools were being priced at multiples that assumed the shift in how organizations operated had become structural.
The $17.5 billion was not unusual for that environment. What is unusual is seeing a company that reached it transact at $1.36 billion, converting a paper correction into a settled exit price.
