Microsoft said it will open Xbox Cloud Gaming in November to anyone who wants to purchase playtime hours outright, with no Xbox Game Pass subscription required.
Players buy cloud playtime hours through the Xbox Store and stream eligible games they already own on supported devices. The hours buy access to an owned library, not a new games catalog.
The Xbox team described the pay-as-you-go option as built for people who want occasional cloud access or who do not want the recurring cost of a monthly Game Pass subscription.
