Fantasy football owners and amateur gamblers expressed significant frustration after Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback Trevor Lawrence chose to slide at the one-yard line rather than score a rushing touchdown during a fourth-quarter blowout victory over the New England Patriots.
The incident occurred on Sunday with the Jaguars leading 28-6 and just under nine minutes remaining in the game.
Lawrence took a designed quarterback keeper on third and three and broke into the clear, but he stopped short of the end zone.
While the Jaguars had already secured a 35-6 win, the decision to not cross the plane prevented a fourth score that would have widened the margin to four touchdowns with over half a quarter left in the contest.
