Against the backdrop of escalating tension between SEC and Big Ten partisans over college football's pecking order, an ESPN personality's attempt to quantify the gap backfired when the numbers turned out to be wrong.
Peter Burns, an ESPN radio host and SEC Network studio anchor, posted that no Big Ten team schedules at least five opponents from the top 25 of the coaches poll, while nine SEC programs do.
