Country singer Ruston Kelly restarts sobriety after prescription opioid relapse following golf cart crash

America's prescription drug system handed country musician Ruston Kelly five controlled substances during a three-day hospital stay after a June golf cart accident, then sent him home with a month-long Percocet prescription.

Kelly, 37, disclosed the dependency spiral on Instagram and reported being three days clean as of July 26.

How the accident opened the door Kelly broke his arm flipping a golf cart after overcorrecting the vehicle in June. Hospital staff administered fentanyl, morphine, ketamine, dilaudid, and oxycodone during his stay.

The Percocet prescription that followed ran out ahead of schedule.
