Generational pressure settled over Connecticut's First Congressional District on Tuesday. Hartford Mayor Luke Bronin defeated fourteen-term Rep.
John Larson in the Democratic primary, ending a congressional tenure that began in the Clinton administration.
Bronin, who also served in the Obama administration, ran on a change argument and steadily closed the gap with the incumbent through the campaign.
The race and its candidates Three challengers contested Larson in the primary: Bronin, state Rep. Jillian Gilchrest, and Hartford Education Board member Ruth Fortune.
