Government spending on blockchain services has become contested ground. Chainalysis has filed a lawsuit accusing U.S.
Immigration and Customs Enforcement of unfairly steering a $95 million contract to rival TRM Labs, and is asking a federal court to block the award and require a full, open competition.
The complaint centers on procurement process. Chainalysis contends the contract was directed to TRM Labs without the open competitive bidding it says federal rules require.
The lawsuit asks the court to halt the existing TRM award and compel ICE to run the selection again. Chainalysis and TRM Labs both compete for blockchain contracts from federal law enforcement agencies.
