12, charting how the attacks redirected thousands of American lives toward military service, first response, education, and community work.

Hillman, the museum's President and CEO, said a growing share of visitors arrived with no personal recollection of September 11. The exhibition builds from that gap.

It traces how the attacks changed individual trajectories and what people decided to do with the loss.
